Starting this week I’ll be working on a new album. It will be built entirely at home, except for the vocal recording sessions and the challenge will be one song, one month. The beauty of it will be that I’ll be very sociable about its progress, unlike previous works.
Here is episode #1 explaining my reasons:
The YouTube vids will be bi-weekly to ensure they have decent content and that I don’t get bogged down in the project.
There will also be something entirely new that I’m excited about and that’s Dubbler. Dubbler is a social networking app that let’s you record up to 60 seconds of audio, attach a picture and post it out to the world. What I’ll be doing is 2-3 times a week I’ll be posting snippets of my progress along the way.
Lastly, you’ll have noticed the websites in the middle of receiving a new lick of paint. It’s been long overdue and I can’t wait to have something finally functional! RSS feeds, a BandPage music plugin and the Facebook page are already up, plus the media section now has links to all the currently available albums for download. More will be added and tweaked over the coming two weeks so bare with me if something looks broken – I’m probably updating it as you click!
Thank you everyone for your awesome patience and messages of support over the years. There may only be a few of you, but that makes each message all the more awesome for it.
Sitorimon’s latest album “The Terms & Conditions to Unconditional Love” is available to stream and buy via the new Bandcamp website. The 16 tracks showcase all that is fickle, frustrating, blood boiling and unfair about love and life.
“It’s been a real journey getting here. I think the last four years has seen more upheaval and general disasters of the heart than any other period in my life. The album deals with different types of love. Unrequited love, unfulfilled love, empty love, the death of love or a loved one and how through it all you can lose sight of reasons to enjoy and love life.”
Sitorimon’s new single “Dander” is released today and is available for free download over at the all new BandCamp website. The lead single is taken from the upcoming album “The Terms & Conditions to Unconditional Love” which features 16 tracks and will be released next Monday. The single also contains a new instrumental track entitled “Epica” which did not make the album.
Sitorimon says “Dander is a particularly personal song for me. It’s like a train of brain spasms that I’ve had through deaths of relationships -in particular where the connection was not there and yet the other party just doesn’t have the guts or balls to do anything about it and I’m trying perhaps too hard to make something work. It creates an endless spiral that drives me utterly mad and shuts others out. Frustration has to pour out somewhere and that’s part of where this song is born from.”
You first heard a snippet of it way back in one of the first vBlog’s – here it is in its first demo format. The vocals are yet to sit right with me yet and the whole thing requires mixing etc but the main track is pretty much done. I hope you all enjoy the insight into the process of making a song !
Sitorimon’s anniversary concert to celebrate the one year rerelease of Runeology is now fully uploaded onto YouTube so click away at the clips below to hear some old favourites, some unreleased and some new material from the forthcoming album.
After about two years at least of delay, “Runeology” finally gets a full digital release on 1st March 2010. “Runeology” will contain 12 studio tracks and 6 “live” tracks taken from Sessions 2006 which is now out of print.
A quick message from Sitorimon:
I’m so pleased that my first album finally will be available everywhere instead of just on the road when I was playing live. It means a lot, especially as I’m now gearing up to record the second one. An EPK for Runeology will be out next week I’d imagine and then they’ll be some exciting things kicking off from then. Thanks for everyones patience!
I have uploaded the free download album “My Hill is Not Silent”, a 14 track tribute album for Silent Hill and the music and soundscape is creates. To celebrate it’s six months released we will be having an interview with Sitorimon about the album ready on Thursday. The album link is available in the Media page of the site, which is slowly beginning to take some shape (hurrah!).
